Myanmar Chapter Inauguration Ceremony Held (Sat. Nov. 10)
The Myanmar Chapter of the APU Student & Alumni Association was launched on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Sedona Hotel in Yangon. Over 20 alumni were present, including two graduates who travelled from Malaysia to join the event.
The ceremony was opened with a salutary speech by APU Pro Vice President Edgar Porter. This was followed by a speech by Mr. Seitaka Yoshida, Chairperson of the APU Student & Alumni Association, who encouraged the Myanmar chapter to create an environment where all APU graduates can feel “at home”.
The core members of the Myanmar Association were then presented to and approved by those present. They officials are as follows:

Those assembled then took a group photograph. Thus was the Myanmar Chapter Inauguration Ceremony held.
Following the ceremony, the group moved to the next venue, which was a restaurant in Yangon, for the reception. The reception was opened with a toast by Prof. Kenji Takano from the APU Education Development and Learning Support Center. The room was filled with chatter as old friends caught each other up on the latest and new connections were made under the banner of “APU”.
To end the evening, a raffle was held where winners were awarded with APU merchandise including APU cookies, mugs, etc.
